“Auriculotherapy is a form of alternative medicine based on the idea that the ear is a micro system, which reflects the entire body, represented on the auricle, the outer portion of the ear. Conditions affecting the physical, mental or emotional health of the patient are assumed to be treatable by stimulation of the surface of the ear exclusively. Wikipedia“
About three years ago we learned about auricular therapy. Our good friend, Valerie Jolie introduced the therapy to a group of folks assembled at her home. Her invited guest, Kate English was demonstrating the process using titanium balls as opposed to acupuncture needles.
My wife was not too happy about driving three hours to watch a person play around with her ear. Michele (wife) complained all the way to the location. The ride was uncomfortable, her pain level was high…it was not a fun ride for either of us.
After explaining what she would be doing Kate English asked for the first volunteer. My wife was one of about ten people in the room who was the first to be seated in, “The Chair”
Michele was experiencing excruciating pain and discomfort in her thighs and shins. Kate English placed a couple of beads onto my wives ears. Michele begin to cry, her pain instantly, before everyone in the room vanished! I was an eyewitness to something that took me a few minutes to process! Most everyone in the room experienced some sort of relief during the demonstration.
We invited Kate to come to our home whereby she did a similar presentation with mixed reviews. Nevertheless, several people experienced immediate relief based on a variety of issues affecting them. The experience with Kate was remarkable…..
Auricular therapy is just that, a therapy. With repeated treatments, not unlike acupuncture I believe much is accomplished. The cost in doing so was out of our reach, we needed to find something more cost effective. I am not sure what long term therapy would have ultimately proved. What is certain was the instant relief that happened with several individuals, not just my wife.
